SMARTER USAGE · INMC

Know before you hit a limit.

Set up useful INMC alerts for low capacity, your recent pace and saved resets. Know what the signal means and what to do next.

USE ININMC setup · Planning prompt for Codex or Claude Code

Before you start

  • I Need My Credits 0.3.55 or later and a current reading from the provider you use.
  • macOS notification permission. Every category starts on for a new installation; saved off choices stay off when updating.
  • Pace estimates need at least 30 minutes of continuous, changing quota readings. A missing reading, long gap or renewed window can pause the estimate.

How to use it

  1. Open INMC. If macOS asks, allow notifications to receive banners. You can decline and still use the monitor. In Settings, use Allow notifications to pause everything or select individual categories.
  2. Low-capacity notices use the provider’s reported usage: 80%, 95% and a reached limit. Read the named window and its renewal time; a five-hour window and a weekly window are different limits.
  3. A pace notice means the recent rate could exhaust a window within six hours and at least 30 minutes before renewal. It is a conditional estimate, not a promise about the rest of your day.
  4. A no-resets notice requires a fresh Codex balance of exactly zero and low remaining capacity. Unknown resets never count as zero. Renewal time is the usage-window reset, not a billing cutoff.
  5. For a routine edit, consider a smaller task and lower reasoning if your tool offers it. Keep deeper reasoning when the task needs it and verify the result. INMC does not read your question or change the setting.
  6. For chat attention, separately connect the installed provider in INMC Settings. Codex permission alerts require reviewing and trusting the local hook in Codex /hooks, then a new session. Claude Code supports compatible permission and input-request events after restart. These hooks do not cover every ordinary question, remote session or web chat.
  7. Tap a chat alert to open the original provider and decide there. INMC never approves a permission. If no banner appears, check macOS notification settings and Focus. Selected video, prompt and official-release categories alert only on new items, without replaying the existing library.

ILLUSTRATIVE EXAMPLE

Make it concrete.

At 2 PM, INMC observes 14% left in a five-hour window that renews at 5 PM. A recent-pace estimate points to roughly 3 PM. Finish one small edit with a clear check before starting a large investigation. If Codex also reports zero saved resets, plan around the 5 PM renewal. This is an illustrative situation, not a measured user result.

Check the result

  • The alert names the actual provider window and uses a current reading; missing or expired data is unavailable.
  • The recent-pace warning says could, not will. Higher activity does not establish inefficient work.
  • A single useful notice takes priority over overlapping limit warnings. Repeats are suppressed, with critical escalation allowed.
  • Conversations and tool arguments are not retained by the attention bridge. The optional product-usage reporting consent remains separate and off until chosen.

Forecasts, thresholds and advice are INMC product rules, not provider guarantees. Provider documentation describes the available hook events and trust requirements. No conversation analysis, automatic reasoning changes or extra AI calls are used.
