What the app stores
Quota percentages, windows, resets, reading timestamps and, when Claude provides them, model name, version and context. Quota history is local and bounded. Conversations, transcripts, emails, passwords and API keys are not stored.
How it connects
Monthly activity stores UTC dates and daily token totals reported by Codex. The reset balance is checked along with quotas. Redeeming a reset requires clicking the button and confirming; an operation identifier is retained for retries without duplicate redemption. No credits are purchased.
For Codex, the app uses the official connection and the account already signed in on your Mac. For Claude Code, it adds a connection on this Mac that receives usage data and saves only the information described above. Any information you had customized in Claude’s display is preserved.
No browser extension required
The current public experiment monitors Codex and compatible Claude Code accounts using connections on your Mac. It does not include a Chrome or Safari extension. A browser may open for the official Claude sign-in and authorization flow. This does not install an extension.
Network connections
The app checks GitHub for official Codex and Claude Code releases, public YouTube feeds from their official channels, and this website for editorial ideas and app updates. Content checks run at launch and roughly every six hours while open. From 0.3.43, app updates are also checked every five minutes and when opening the panel, with a one-minute cooldown. These requests do not send your usage percentages, conversations or prompts to those sources. The services receive normal request data, such as IP address and user agent.
Website and free access
On your Mac, YouTube feeds are requested directly; on the website, the server requests them when the section is deployed. The app caches video and idea titles, links and dates on this Mac. All notification categories start on for a new installation, subject to macOS permission. The app requests that permission once from its visible interface; you can decline, pause all alerts or turn categories off. Saved choices are preserved on update. Capacity, pace, reset, release, video and tip notification history stays on this Mac to prevent repeats. Pace estimates use reported quota observations, not conversation content. Local chat-attention hooks require separate setup and any provider trust approval; they retain only the provider, event type and time. INMC never approves a request or changes your reasoning setting.
Copying a command writes only that text to your clipboard when you press the button. It is not sent to an AI or executed automatically. Videos open on YouTube only when you click the link; there is no embedded tracking player.
This website does not install advertising analytics. Hosting may keep technical logs. Early access requires no card or payment details. Test checkout has been retired, and this website does not initiate payments or subscriptions.
Optional app usage reports, version 0.3.2 and later
App usage reporting is separate from website Analytics and is off until you explicitly choose Share usage reports in the app. Declining does not remove any feature. Earlier versions do not send these reports. Participating installations send daily monitor opens, the start of participation, successful quota connections, selected connection failures, app version, macOS major version and interface language to ineedmycredits.com. Repeated events of the same type are counted at most once per installation per UTC day.
We use a random installation code and store its cryptographic hash, not your name, email or hardware identifier. These data are pseudonymous, not guaranteed anonymous. We do not collect AI consumption, tokens, credit balances, conversations, prompts, credentials, file paths or error-message content. The code is not linked to Google Analytics or an AI account. Reports count participating installations, not identified people or all customers.
The report covers a rolling 90-day window. Older records are excluded and removed when the service next collects data or generates a report. Processing and storage use our Sites/Cloudflare hosting infrastructure, potentially outside your country. Our measurement database does not store IP addresses or user agents; hosting infrastructure necessarily receives network requests and may retain separate technical logs.
In Settings, Stop sharing and delete my reports immediately turns off collection and requests deletion of this installation’s measurement records. An offline or failed deletion remains pending and can be retried; the app keeps only the deletion code for that purpose. A hashed revocation marker is kept for up to the same 90-day window and next cleanup to reject late requests. Re-enabling participation creates a new code. Previously exported aggregate reports and hosting logs are not retroactively removed by this action. Uninstalling alone does not send a deletion request.
Optional website analytics
Only if you choose Allow analytics, this website loads Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits, traffic sources, general device and region information, and the Mac download process: clicks, verified installer preparation and download errors. Verified preparation means the installer reached the browser and was handed to its save mechanism; it does not confirm saving to disk or installation. Google processes this information on its infrastructure, which may be outside your country. No Google Analytics script or analytics request is loaded before your permission.
We do not enable advertising personalization, Google Signals, session recordings or form-content collection. We do not send your email, AI conversations, credentials, credits or app usage to Analytics. Public page paths and campaign labels are used for web measurement; arbitrary query parameters and URL fragments are excluded. Your consent choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days, and Analytics cookies are configured with the same maximum lifetime.
You can decline without losing access and change or withdraw permission from Privacy choices at the bottom of every page. Withdrawal stops further collection and removes this site’s Analytics cookies; it does not automatically delete data already received by Google. For privacy requests, contact us below. How Google processes this information.
Language preference
The homepage opens in English. Choose Spanish in the selector to use /es routes, without relying on cookies or browser language. The app starts in English and lets you switch to Spanish while using it. This is not used for advertising or tracking.
Disconnecting and deleting data
In Settings, you can disconnect Claude, restore its previous configuration and disable automatically opening the monitor. To remove local metrics, first disconnect the browser companion and quit INMC. Remove the DuetBar folder in your user Library/Application Support. Versions with the Safari companion also keep consent and browser-source readings in Library/Group Containers/9FT7V5WZ64.com.ineedmycredits.usage/ProviderReadings; remove that ProviderReadings folder as well. Remove the extension through browser settings to clear its browser-local settings.
Product requests you choose to send
The in-app request form sends only the message and category you submit, an optional reply email, interface language, app version, a random request identifier and a separate random installation code to INMC. Sending requires your explicit consent. This form does not read or attach AI conversations, quota history or provider credentials. Never include passwords, API keys, authorization links or sensitive files.
Requests are stored in our private team inbox on Sites/Cloudflare for up to 180 days and the next cleanup, to evaluate integrations, improvements and support issues. The installation code is stored as a cryptographic digest and is separate from optional product analytics. Abuse controls use daily counters and, when available, a secret-keyed daily network-address digest; these counters are removed after two days and the next cleanup. Our request database does not retain raw IP addresses or user agents. Hosting infrastructure may keep separate technical logs.
A “received” confirmation means the message was saved in the team inbox, not that an email was delivered or that a feature is promised. When support email forwarding is configured, the submitted message, optional reply email and request metadata are also sent to the INMC support mailbox through Google Apps Script and Gmail. Forwarding is restricted to that mailbox; the relay keeps delivery identifiers for up to eight days to prevent duplicate sends. Messages are not sent to Analytics. We use an optional reply address only to handle your request, not for marketing. For access, correction or deletion, email support with your request identifier.
Support emails
If you email us, we use your address, message and any attachments to respond and resolve your request, not for marketing. Support is handled through Gmail. Share only necessary information and never passwords or access keys. We retain correspondence while needed to handle the request or meet applicable obligations; you may request access, correction or deletion at the contact below.
Retention and control
Quota samples are limited to active windows from the last eight days, with at most 2,500 samples. Reported Codex daily totals are accumulated locally for the current calendar year; newer totals replace earlier readings for the same date. Missing days are not reconstructed. Cached files remain until replaced or removed. App preferences are stored separately in macOS settings. Hosting and third-party services have their own retention policies. No fixed deletion period for their logs has been verified.
Access, correction and deletion
You control the app’s local data and may disconnect its integrations or remove its metric files. If you contact the project, share only what is needed and never passwords, API keys or full conversation histories. Send access, correction or deletion requests to the support email below. No marketing list or advertising analytics has been enabled for this beta.
