# Bring the context that matters.

Keep related work together. For a different objective, carry over a short handoff instead of the whole conversation.

Use in: Codex or Claude Code

Reviewed: 2026-10-09

## Before you start

- The current objective and the relevant sources.
- Decisions already made and evidence already checked.

## How to use it

1. Ask the current conversation for a short handoff.
2. Review the handoff for missing decisions or unsupported claims.
3. Paste it into the next conversation with the specific new objective.

## Prompt to copy

Prepare a handoff for a new conversation: objective, relevant files or sources, decisions already made, verified results and remaining questions. Keep it under 200 words. Distinguish facts from assumptions. Do not include credentials or unrelated history.

## A practical example

Illustrative scenario, not a measured case study.

Move from fixing a sign-in bug to updating its help page. Carry over the verified behavior and relevant files, rather than every debugging message.

## Check the result

- Verified facts and assumptions are separate.
- The handoff fits 200 words.
- Credentials and unrelated history are excluded.

INMC example. A clearer scope can reduce avoidable rework; no fixed usage saving is promised.
